EMICODE® Certification System
EMICODE® is a classification system designed to evaluate and rate the emission level of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in construction materials. By providing a clear and reliable assessment, EMICODE® certification aids professionals in selecting materials with lower VOC emission, thereby promoting healthier indoor environments.
EMICODE® classification Levels
The EMICODE® system categorise construction materials into three distinct levels based on their VOC emission.
- EC1 PLUS (Very Low Emission): The highest and most stringent category, awarded only to products that meet the most rigorous criteria.
- EC1 (Low Emission): Product that emit low level of VOC
- EC2 (Limited Acceptable Emission): Products with emissions within an acceptable but higher range.
