Acoustic Resin Flooring System DECORATIVE. DURABLE. PEACEFUL.
A multi-layer polyurethane resin flooring system with integrated acoustic underlay, engineered to reduce impact sound transmission through floor structures. Seamless, hard-wearing, and available in the full RAL colour range, the definitive specification for resin flooring in multi-storey residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings where acoustic performance is a design or regulatory requirement.

What is acoustic resin flooring?
The Arturo Acoustic Resin Floor is a six-layer polyurethane resin flooring system that combines the seamless, hygienic performance of conventional self-smoothing resin floor with certified acoustic and thermal insulation properties. The system's acoustic performance derives from a bonded resilient underlay UZIN RR 189 PLUS FR, installed beneath the resin build-up, which decouples the floor finish from the structural substrate and attenuates impact sound transmission between floors.
At 5-7mm total system thickness, it is the deepest build-up in the Arturo floor system range. Acoustic resin flooring is specified wherever building regulations, Part E compliance, or acoustic consultants require measurable impact sound insulation from a seamless finish floor typically multi-storey residential, student accommodation, hotels, and open-plan offices above habitable spaces.
The PU2060 body coat provides Shore D 60 hardness, delivering a harder, more resilient wearing surface than the comfort floor system, suited to medium-duty foot traffic and furniture movement without acoustic compromise.
Substrate & installation requirements
The acoustic system introduces additional installation stages compared to standard resin floor build-ups. The underlay bonding sequence is critical to acoustic performance, any deviation from the specified adhesive and installation method will affect dB rating.
-
Substrate must be dry, sound, and free from contamination that could impair adhesive bond
-
UZIN KR 430 adhesive applied to substrate before UZIN RR 189 PLUS FR underlay installation, don not substitute adhesive.
-
Underlay butt joints must be tightly abutted with no gaps. Gaps reduce acoustics performance and create void for the scratch coat to bridge.
-
Thixotropic agent must be added to PU2060 at correct ratio (0.5%–2.0% by weight) for scratch coat application, ensure consistent mix.
-
Two separate scratch coat applications required, each with 18 hour curing time between coats, do not compress the inter-coat curing window.
-
Ambient and substrate temperature between 10°C–25°C throughout all application and curing stages
-
Underfloor heating: commission 7 days prior to installation; switch off 48 hours before and during application
Acoustic & Thermal Performance
Impact sound is generated when an object strikes a floor, footsteps, dropped objects, chair movement and travels through the floor structure-borne vibration, radiating as airborne noise in the space below. The UZIN RR 189 PLUS FR resilient underlay acts as a mechanical decoupler between the resin floor system and structure substrate, absorbing impact energy before it enters the structure. The thicker the underlay, the greater the decoupling effect, reflected in the system's tested dB values across 3mm and 4mm underlay thicknesses. This is a fundamentally different approach to acoustic attenuation from ceiling or wall treatments, acting directly at the point of impact generation. It is also available in 2mm and 6mm thickness for technical specification, see the datasheet.

Acoustic resin floor build-up
The acoustic resin floor system consists of six functional layers. The underlay and adhesive layers are unique to this system and must be installed before the resin build-up begins. The scratch coat application involves two sequential coats of PU2060 mixed with Thixotropic Agent, each requiring 18 hours curing time before the next coat.

*Ensure the subfloor is dry, sound and free from materials that could impair adhesion.
**Apply the first scratch coat of Arturo PU2060 Self-smoothing Floor (consumption approx. 500 - 1,300 g/ m²) mixed with Arturo Thixotropic Agent as thickener. Add Arturo Thixotropic Agent until the desired thickness is achieved (consumption: 0.5% to max. 2.0% by weight). Curing time approx. 18 hours. After curing of the Arturo PU2060 Self-smoothing Floor, apply the second scratch coat of Arturo PU2060 Self-smoothing Floor (consumption approx. 500 - 1,300 g/ m²) mixed with Arturo Thixotropic Agent as thickener. Add Arturo Thixotropic Agent until the desired thickness is achieved (consumption: 0.5% to max. 2.0% by weight). Curing time approx. 18 hours.
***Apply Arturo PU3320 Coloured Satin Sealer before the seal coat.
